Mission & Values

TL;DR

This practice runs on three simple values: continuity across generations, visits long enough to do real work, and the lowest-intervention option that works. Dr. Jedidiah Oldham, DO keeps the same patients through pregnancy, delivery, newborn care, chronic disease, and musculoskeletal complaints so care stays coherent across decades. What Is the Mission of This Practice?

The mission is straightforward: deliver family medicine that is actually personal. One physician, one chart, one phone number for the whole household, and a visit length that allows a real history, a focused exam, and treatment in the same appointment when that is the right call. The practice is built for long-term relationships rather than one-off encounters.

What Values Guide Dr. Oldham’s Practice?

Three values do most of the work in day-to-day decisions. Continuity: the same physician follows a patient across pregnancy, delivery, well-child care, adult chronic disease, and into older age. Shared decisions: options and trade-offs are explained, and the plan is made with the patient, not handed to them. Lowest-intervention first: OMT, home exercises, and watchful waiting before MRI; lifestyle change and a single well-chosen medication before stacking a second one.

These values align with the osteopathic view that structure, function, and the whole person are connected, and with the Choosing Wisely evidence on which tests and procedures add value and which do not.

How Do These Values Show Up in a Visit?

A first appointment is 45 to 60 minutes. That time changes how chronic disease is handled: home blood-pressure logs, glucose trends, medication side effects, and lifestyle barriers all come into the conversation rather than being squeezed out by the clock. For a musculoskeletal complaint, it means a hands-on exam and, when indicated, OMT in the same visit instead of a separate referral.

The practice accepts 30+ insurance plans. Follow-up visits are scheduled long enough to review test results together, adjust medications, and make sure the patient leaves with a clear sense of what happens next and when to come back.

What Should a New Patient Expect?

Expect a conversation. Expect to be asked what your goals are. Expect an honest recommendation and an honest discussion of alternatives. Expect the same physician next visit. Call (385) 265-6060 to schedule a first appointment, or book online.
